The world is in crisis! A man and a woman, tired of the world, alone on a stage, are trying to re-tame each other… The characters, alienated by everyday life, are totally deprived of their own identities. They’ve become mechanical consumers, kings of materialism and paragons of morality, naked again in the Garden of Eden, searching for the tree to bite into the saving fruit. Ultimate instinct of survival, they try to escape this ecstatic and cruel ideal, where each difference is erased, where individuality is denied and where men and women are assimilated to creatures of the god Economy. In search of flesh and hedonism, celebrating difference, blending and exchange, the Spanish dancer German Jauregui, member of the Ultima Vez de Wim Vandekeybus company, and the Russian dancer Elena Fokina created Sunset on Mars. In the empty space of the stage, those two bodies coming from extremities of Europe but so identically formatted by centuries of Judeo-Christianity and consumerism, try a new approach of sharing. Their bodies are their last possession because society stole everything from them, their last chance of salute because their ideals are dead, and also their last battlefield. Will their bodies, searching themselves in poetical and carnal embraces, find again their political dimension?
