What can be found, deep, in children’s dreams? What are those strange animal shapes hidden in corners? The young Portuguese choreographer Tiago Guedes is taking us in a trip through the secret universe of child’s dreams. Behind a great moving veil, fingers are entering in action. They dance, run, wriggle. Gradually, the body of the choreographer-performer spreads itself, safe behind his veil, and gives birth to enigmatic and ephemeral characters. With a simple change of light, new perspectives appears in this shadow show from where fly away doves but also gigantic insects. Totally fantastic and magical, the little world imagined by Tiago Guedes is always changing, without special effects, but based on the ingenuousness that all is real. Even a hippopotamus on a cloud! Tiago Guedes also asks questions, invents enigmas and arouses curiosity and sensibility. What’s behind this? And inside? Is there anybody here? What’s that shadow, walking over me? And that lady, what is she singing? Even if I don’t understand what she sings, isn’t there at least something I can figure out? It’s perhaps time to answer all these questions, and not only them! Because there are others, with answers hidden deep in the adults’ imaginary… But you probably have to be a child to go that deep.
